St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church
New Berlin, New York
Levi Beardslee donated the land for the first church, organized in 1814. This would
be the first Episcopal Church west of the Unadilla River, the boundary of the frontier.
The present church, designed by Richard Upjohn, is build of local stone and was
completed in 1848. Gradually the original windows were replaced by memorial windows.
A Tiffany window depicting the Archangel Gabriel backs the chancel. A Parish Hall was added in 1910 and a Recotry in 1924. The church and adjoining cemetery are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
